I studied biology (especially genetics and phylogeny) at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, furthermore biology and science of religion at the Universität Bielefeld.

Now I work at the biological institute Biologiezentrum Bustedt and am member of the board of the scientific working group AG westfälischer Entomologen.
I am also a member of following working groups at universities:

- Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover, Genetics, Evolutionary Biology and Religious Behavior (AG Prof. Dr. Dr. Ina Wunn).

- Universität Bielefeld, Faculty of Biology, Biological Collection (scientist), ecology of dung beetles (Palaearctic).

I am Validator/Admin and Expert for Coleoptera (especially Scarabaeidae, Geotrupidae, Bolboceratidae, Trogidae and Silphidae) for Observation.org and work with the data for faunistic and ecological research.
